Info about the Creative Wellbeing Studios
What is the Creative Wellbeing Studio?
Supportive, playful workshops for adults to explore creativity and wellbeing, cultivating connection and community through weekly sessions from November to December 2025 in Auckland central.
The emphasis is on the creative process rather than producing a finished product, inviting participants to reconnect with their innate creativity as a tool for enhancing wellbeing, and offering creative wellbeing tools that can be integrated into everyday life. Participants will also be given space to share and reflect with one another followed by the sharing of tea and biscuits as a way to transition back into the remainder of their day.
While this workshop is facilitated by a creative arts therapist, this series is not specifically an ‘arts therapy' group and is focused on wellbeing and creative practices.
Who is it for?
The Creative Wellbeing Studios (CWS) are designed for adults living in Auckland, with no previous art experience necessary. The only pre-requisite is that participants are interested in exploring creativity and wellbeing within a group environment and with an openness to try something new.
When is it?
Weekly afternoon group: Monday 3 November - Monday 1 December (Group 1) - 2 - 4pm
Weekly morning group: Thursday 6 November - Thursday 4th December (Group 2) - 10.30am - 12.30pm
How much does it cost?
Entry by koha thanks to the support of the Creative Communities Scheme and Creative New Zealand
How do you enrol in the studios?
Due to high demand, priority for registration is given to those who have not previously attended any workshop or studio facilitated by Virginia.
It is essential that each person fills out the 'Registration of Interest' form to make sure the group is a right fit.
Once all workshop spaces are filled, additional registrations of interest will be placed on a waiting list. If a space becomes available, you will be contacted to begin the intake conversation.
Who is running the workshops?
Each workshop will be facilitated by Virginia Frankovich, a multi-disciplinary artist, community facilitator and registered Creative Arts Therapist, who brings extensive experience in delivering both community-based arts workshops and clinically-informed arts therapy groups across diverse Auckland communities. Yiyao Tian, an emerging creative arts therapist will also be joining the CWS as an Assistant Facilitator.
Where will it take place?
Based in central Auckland. Because spaces are subject to an intake process, the location of workshops will be shared with registered participants once they have confirmed their space in the studios.
